One of the ideas I explore and develop in my book, The Jesus Dynasty, was the notion of two Messiahs. I had no idea it would become sensational–much less controversial. It actually became headline news, with a cover story in USNews & World Report and special segments on ABC’s Good Morning America, 20/20, and Nightline! Jesus was never a Christian, you have to remember that. He was born a Jew, he lived as a Jew, he died as a Jew. He never heard the word Christian. It was only after three hundred years, when the Bible was translated into Greek, that messiah became christ, and the followers of Christ.

The Three Christs of Ypsilanti () is a book-length psychiatric case study by Milton Rokeach, concerning his experiment on a group of three paranoid schizophrenics at Ypsilanti State Hospital in Ypsilanti, book details the interactions of the three patients—Clyde Benson, Joseph Cassel, and Leon Gabor—each of whom believed himself to be Jesus ChristAuthor: Milton Rokeach.

If Tabor's book is controversial on the birth of Jesus, it also raises questions about Jesus' early ministry. Tabor suggests there were two messiahs, not one. Foreword by Barrie Wilson Professor Emeritus and Senior Scholar, Religious Studies, York University, Toronto Scholars have spent years investigating the problem of the historical Jesus, that is, how can we now reliably know what the Jesus of history said and did when Jesus himself wrote nothing, and the Gospels were written at least 40 to.

These events occur prior to a second physical coming of Hadhrat Isa bin Maryam (Jesus, son of Mary), who Islam believes was a prophet of God from the lineage of Abraham, and the prophesied Messiah.

According to some hadiths, Jesus and the Mahdi will co-rule for a short time. This book provides a unique perspective by tying in three major world religions to end-times prophecies. Biltz claims that the three major Abrahamic religions are telling the same story of the Messiah and the end times from three Mark Biltz offers insight into the links between the Jewish Messiah, the Antichrist in Christianity, and the Islamic Ratings: 0.

For a more complete study of the texts involved in both the expected categories and the candidates for such messianic slots in that time see my complication titled “Two Messiahs the Evidence” and my unpublished article, “One, Two, or Three Messiahs: Dynastic and Priestly Pedigrees from the Maccabees to Masada.”.

Later in the book of Matthew, there’s a conversation in which Jesus uses David’s words from Psalm to remind the religious leaders who He was: Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected has.

From the writings of the Jewish historian, Josephus, Judas the Galilean was the only Messiah figure who matched the mythical Jesus of Nazareth in word and deed.

Judas the Galilean preached a nationalistic message which pitted his followers. Jesus' life stands in sharp contrast to those of the false messiahs, and it is a positive demonstration of what we would expect the Messiah to do.

Jesus worked many miracles of healing, bringing wholeness into people's lives, forgiving sin and restoring relationships. Jesus announces that He is the Messiah prophesied by Isaiah but is rejected by His neighbors in Nazareth. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. 16 And he came to Nazareth.

Yet Jesus said in Matthew that he would be buried three days and three nights as Jonah was in the whale three days and three nights. Friday afternoon to early Sunday morning is only one and a half days, so he could not have been the messiah by his own and Paul’s admission. The book of Zechariah does not explicitly state that Messiah will come twice, yet we do see two pictures of the king, coming once as a man of peace and again as a conquering king.

Without a doubt, these passages should cause one to stop and. What transpires is both comic and deeply moving/10(). Contrary to popular belief, there were not "dozens" of people in Palestine claiming to be or being claimed to be the Messiah in Jesus' time.

The claim to be the Messiah is a big deal and not something any Jew in any period has claimed lightly. The pseudo-Messiahs that followed played their rôles in the Orient, and were at the same time religious reformers whose work influenced Karaism.

O People of the Book. Commit no excesses in your religion or utter anything concerning Allah but the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, His Word that He sent to Mary, and a Spirit from Him [that He sent].
